Health Longevity
Your path to La Dolce Vita starts with a foundation
Italy is a land that attracts many with its rich history, delicious food and wine, beautiful nature and architecture, vibrant people, and old-school simplicity. Sardinia in Italy was the first longevity "BLUE ZONE" researched and provides many lessons learnt to living a long and healthy life.
'Blue Zones: why people live longer and healthier in certain regions of the world' was a public lecture I attended at Australian National University in 2018 by Prof Michel Poulain, who identified an exceptional longevity area in the mountainous part of Sardinia. He later went on to work with Dan Buettner who popularised the BLUE ZONES paradigm. He said that instead of imposing health regimes, we can create conditions and opportunities that make individual choices for a healthier life easier.
Being an expat or immigrant pulls us from our routine and known places that contribute to our health. The impact of change and culture shock can also be displacing. But it can be an opportunity -- to explore what the new place has to offer and reset into a new way of life.
Certified from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (2017), the largest nutrition school in the world, continuing also with Gut Health specialisation (2018); and spent 20 years researching and trialing health strategies.

How to navigate this as an expat?

Coaching Approach
• Assessment of living location (air pollution, climate, distance to health factors, etc)
• Lessons learned from the BLUE ZONES longest lived communities
• Longevity hacks for modern living
• Health pillars: nutrition, exercise, relationships, purpose, freedom/finance; but other areas can be an impact too and are reviewed with you: environment, practitioners and activities.
• Bio-individuality - the theory that one person's food can be another person's poison - can be based on age, gender, race, disease status, blood/metabolic type, and level of activity.
• Non-nutrition aspects generally override the nutrition aspects. Interconnectivity of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health means the person is taken as a whole.
• Crowd out bad habits by adding in good habits.
• The body will heal and thrive when given the right conditions.
• Fun - Daily habits and intentions are key to health, and it doesn't have to be all hard work!
