Hi, I'm Madeline. I am a qualified health coach, who is passionate about solutions for the healthiest 'you'. I am a Gen X Dutch Australian engineer living in Europe, and I have personal experience in designing my lifestyle in different international locations whilst also managing a chronic autoimmune disease . I know that being an expat or immigrant pulls us from our routine and known places that contribute to our health, but it can also be an opportunity -- to explore what a new place has to offer and reset into a new way of life.

'Blue Zones: why people live longer and healthier in certain regions of the world' was a public lecture I attended at Australian National University in 2018 by Prof Michel Poulain, who identified an exceptional longevity area in the mountainous part of Sardinia. He later went on to work with Dan Buettner who popularised the BLUE ZONES paradigm.
APPROACH
• Lessons learned from the BLUE ZONES longest lived communities, and Longevity hacks for modern living
• Health pillars: nutrition, exercise, relationships, purpose, freedom/finance; but other areas can have an impact too: environment, practitioners/facilities, and activities.
• Bio-individuality: the theory that one person's food can be another person's poison - can be based on age, gender, race, disease status, metabolic type, and level of activity.
• Mindset for strategies: Holistic health comprises physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual health and is interconnected . Crowd out bad habits by adding in good habit. Daily habits and intentions are key to health, so it is important to have them fun and not all hard work! The body will heal and thrive when given the right conditions! Prof Poulain said that instead of imposing health regimes, we can create conditions and opportunities that make individual choices for a healthier life easier.

Coaching is part of a changing healthcare system. Empowerment bridges the gap.
